Q: Who can be a coach?
A: Any parent can volunteer to be a coach or assistant coach for their child’s team. All coaches are required to pass a background check.
Q: How many coaches are there for each team?
A: Typically all teams will be assigned two (2) coaches, unless the team is a Pre-K or K team that will play on two (2) fields as those teams will be assigned three (3) coaches.
Q: If I volunteer to coach, am I guaranteed to be a coach?
A: No. While every attempt is made to accommodate all volunteer requests, there are seasons where there are more volunteers than available coaching positions/needs. In such cases, the coaches are chosen at random from the available volunteers.
Q: When will I know if I have been selected to be a coach?
A: Notification to the coaches for the Spring season is typically done in mid-February; Fall season notification is typically done early August.
Q: If I do not want to be a coach, are there other positions for which I can volunteer?
A: Yes, there are several opportunities to volunteer within the Rec. Soccer program. To note a few opportunities: two (2) Field Marshalls are required for every game day; picture day coordinators are required every season; roster compilation is necessary prior to every season and game schedule compilation is necessary as well.
